Dr. Annie Gintert

Dr. Annie Gintert is a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian who has always had a deep-rooted love for animals. Born and raised in Palm Harbor, Florida, she knew from a young age that her future would be devoted to animal care. Growing up surrounded by several beloved family boxers, Annie developed a natural connection with animals that shaped her early ambition to enter the veterinary field.

She began her academic journey at Florida State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. With her sights set on her dream career, she continued her education at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2016, she proudly graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), fully prepared to begin her mission of helping animals live healthier, happier lives.

Since joining the Animal and Bird Hospital, Dr. Gintert has become an integral part of the team. Her gentle and reassuring approach during exams helps minimise stress for both pets and their owners, making each visit as comfortable and positive as possible. She is passionate about strengthening the bond between pets and their families through clear communication and quality care.

Over time, she has developed special interests in pet dentistry and surgical procedures. These areas allow her to provide essential services that improve the overall health and wellbeing of her patients. Whether it’s a routine cleaning or a more advanced surgical need, Dr. Gintert approaches every case with precision and empathy.

Outside the clinic, Annie enjoys a variety of creative and active pursuits. She is an avid crafter and musician, and she loves spending time outdoors. At home, she shares her life with two beloved dogs—a Maltese Poodle and a Labradoodle—who keep her on her toes and remind her daily why she chose this path.
